Last Friday, I had the chance to host a Lino printing workshop at Sad Art Gallery in Tehran, bringing together an incredible group of participants, many of whom came from backgrounds like engineering and medicine. It was truly inspiring to see how these individuals, often more accustomed to analytical mindsets, embraced the creative process with enthusiasm and curiosity.

During the workshop, we explored every step of the Lino printing process. Participants began by sketching their designs, which were then transferred on linoleum sheets. From there, they carved their designs by small chisels, transforming simple sketches into intricate stamps. With their unique stamps in hand, participants applied fabric paint and carefully printed their creations onto tote bags.

The final results were truly amazing. Each tote bag was the reflection of the individual’s style and creativity, with designs ranging from abstract patterns to more detailed illustrations. I was especially proud to see how everyone found their own way to translate their ideas into tangible art. This workshop at Sad Art Gallery was a reminder that creativity knows no boundaries, and it was a privilege for me to lead such talented individuals in discovering their artistic potentials.

I am happy to announce next Friday, August 16, I will run a Lino Print Workshop where participants will explore the art of linocut and fabric printing. You will begin by carving your own design into a linoleum sheet, learning how to create intricate patterns and illustrations. Once your lino sheet is ready, you’ll use fabric paint and a sponge to transfer your design on a tote bag, creating a personalized and sustainable accessory.

I’m so excited to share an update from a recent paper mache workshop! Last Thursday, the fourth of July, I hosted 14 participants aged 20 to 34 who were eager to learn the art of sculpting with paper and glue. In this workshop, I tried to emphasize creativity along with good times and fun. Participants created their own puppets or imaginary creatures, resulting in fourteen unique and imaginative sculptures. The process involved layering strips of paper covered with glue over the templates, and I provided guidance and supervision throughout to help them come up with their visions. Diversity in backgrounds and ages added a rich dynamic to the creative process.

Papier-mâché is a versatile art form that involves strips of paper and glue that allows for strong and expressive sculptures. With years of experience in various art disciplines, including papier mache, I enjoy teaching and sharing this revolutionary technique with others.

Feel free to get in touch if you would like to join or learn more about Papier Mache.

“Unsuspecting Death Domicile” is the title of Niloufar Ataei Far’s first solo illustration exhibition. In this exhibition, she explores the deaths of Iraj and Siavash through visual essays. Although the hero sometimes leaves the story through death, their death continues to walk within the narrative, turning the pages of the book, changing its course. The hero does not disappear; instead, they transform through death, subjugating everything through this metamorphosis. The hero does not die but merely transitions from one form of death to another.
